Natalie and Jake

Natalie and Jake’s fall wedding at the Chapel Hill Carriage House in Chapel Hill, North Carolina was the most perfect day! The light was gorgeous, they chose the most beautiful flowers for the wedding, and they even got to pet and feed some alpacas on the property. After the ceremony, their celebration continued with their reception at the Plum Kitchen in downtown Durham! What an absolute fun day with this sweet couple!

Jake and Natalie actually met in college at Towson University in Towson, Maryland when they were both working at the gym. One of their favorite activities is spending time outdoors. They both enjoy visiting Great Falls National Park in northern Virginia. While hiking on their favorite hiking trail at sunrise with their pup, Jake proposed!

Fall Wedding in North Carolina

Natalie and Jake’s wedding day started at the Chapel Hill Carriage House. The guys had fun playing pool while getting ready and the girls hung out together, with all of Natalie’s bridal party wearing matching light blue pajamas! Natalie did a special first look with her bridesmaids with all of them also wearing soft blue. Natalie even had a special first look as well with her dad before the ceremony. For Natalie and Jake’s first look, we chose a lightly shaded quiet spot near the carriage house. If I could choose a theme for this wedding, it would be first looks! I love when my couples not only decide on a first look for themselves, but also when they involve other family members or their bridal party. It just makes those moments much more special!

The ceremony took place under an open air chapel, and Natalie and Jake exchanged personal vows. After the ceremony, the staff brought out their alpacas and the wedding guests got to pet and feed them! One of them even wore a little black top hat and blue bow tie! After family formals, we moved to an area next to the pond with some really pretty light for couples portraits! I also shot some separate bride and groom photos of just Natalie and Jake, and we included the alpaca! He was so adorable!

Natalie and Jake met up with their guests for the reception in downtown Durham at the Plum Kitchen. Jake’s brother and wife are the head chef and pastry chef, respectively, and their family rented the entire restaurant for their big celebration. One of the neatest displays they had at the front door when you walked in, was a drawing outlining their love story! It had watercolor images of where they met and where their life has taken them over the years. Because the restaurant didn’t have a dance floor, Jake and Natalie had their first dance right outside on the street in front of the restaurant. They rented a large lit up LOVE sign for the sidewalk as a fun extra addition for the reception!

After some sweet toasts, Natalie danced with her dad and Jake with his mom outside. They had such a fun time cutting their cake. They ended the night with some fun dancing outside with their family and friends!

Congratulations Natalie and Jake! Your wedding was beautiful! I’m already getting booked for this coming year, so please contact me soon about your wedding date!
