Chris and Savannah

Savannah and Chris’ late fall wedding at the arboretum in Wilmington, NC was such a pretty celebration full of special moments! They had their ceremony at the New Hanover County Arboretum and their reception at the Pine Valley Country Club. It ended up being a mix of sunny and overcast weather during the day. Savannah’s children were so excited for her! For this sweet couple, you could say that the stars were aligned for them to become husband and wife.

Savannah and Chris met on a dating website in April 2017. They had their first date three days later in Carolina Beach. Savannah loves looking at the stars and Chris bought her a new telescope for Christmas two years ago. There was a full moon that night when Chris got home from golfing and Savannah was in the shower. Chris said he didn’t know how to set it up and couldn’t get it to work, so he asked Savannah to help. When Savannah realized that the lens cap was still on, she went to take it off and noticed the ring box inside. Savannah was in her pj’s with soaking wet hair, but the moment was perfect! They have been together for five years.

Savannah and her bridesmaids got ready at a local AirBnB. She chose such pretty colors for the wedding, with the girls wearing light pink and the men in blue suits. While at the AirBnB, Savannah had a first look with her son. As her saw her, he exclaimed, “Wow, I didn’t expect this!” It was such a sweet moment between the two of them. Savannah made sure to get a photo of her son and daughter before the wedding. Savannah and Chris had their first look at the AirBnB, with Savannah’s bridesmaid faking him out at first before Savannah arrived. She spun around so Chris could see the back of her dress and veil. Everyone headed to the arboretum where Savannah also had a first look with her dad before the ceremony. We also took bridal party and bride and groom portraits as well.

Their ceremony took place outside at the New Hanover County Arboretum, with Savannah and Chris exchanging vows in front of an ornate concrete and steel sculpture. After they both said I do, we took family photos while the guests headed to cocktail hour. They incorporated some soft elements and their wedding colors into the reception details, such as candles, twinkle curtains, and navy blue napkins. Chris and Savannah made their grand entrance into the reception at the Pine Valley Country Club and started things off with some first dances. Savannah’s daughter gave the first speech of the night and gave her mom a big hug right after. It was so precious! All the smiles, laughter and love could be felt around the room as more members of the bridal party shared kind words about the bride and groom.

After Chris and Savannah cut their cake, they spent the remainder of the night dancing with all of their friends and family! They exited the reception with everyone lighting the way with sparklers! Congratulations to you both on such a gorgeous wedding day! I’m already booking weddings for 2023. If you want to book me for your date next year, be sure to send me an email!
