One of my favorite southern traditions, especially here in North Carolina, is a scheduling a bridal portrait session before a wedding! A lot of my clients will schedule a bridal session so they can add a portrait to the reception decor. Taylor’s bridal session at Cape Fear Botanical Gardens in Fayetteville was so beautiful! This nature location boasts 80 acres that is located between the Cape Fear River and Cross Creek. You can walk on the scenic trail around the river and take in all of the special gardens and blooming plants. Visitors can relax on the patio while enjoying the view of the pond.

Cape Fear Botanical Gardens is such a pretty location in the spring and summer, but the color of the trees and the soft light makes it an even more picturesque location in the fall. Scheduling a bridal session isn’t just about getting more pretty pictures from your photographer. There are so many advantages with doing a bridal portrait session! With a bridal session, you can do a run though trial of your hair and makeup before the wedding day. This will give you a chance to make any changes or decide if you want your hair up or down. Your hair may need more hair spray or bobby pins depending on the time of day or year.

This will also give you some ideas on what you want to wear for jewelry! If there is an important bracelet or necklace that was passed down to you, then you may want to wear it for your bridal session or wedding. Some brides will wear two wedding dresses – one for the wedding and one for the reception. A bridal session would give the chance to show off both dresses for the ceremony and reception with more photos!

Taylor brought along her mom and some of her friends to her bridal session at Cape Fear Botanical Gardens! This gave them a chance to spend time and laugh together while assisting Taylor with her veil and dress. Taylor’s wedding is going to be so beautiful!
