As a Wilmington photographer, I always love coming back to one of my absolute favorite portrait locations in this coastal area of North Carolina! Karen and Gova’s engagement session at Fort Fisher near Wilmington was beautiful! From their coordinated outfits to the perfect weather, it only made me want to keep shooting even after we had almost four hundred photos!
Gova lives in Alabama and works in IT and Karen lives in Charlotte, NC. As it gets closer to the end of the year, Karen will be moving to Alabama with Gova! They met in Pittsburgh at the gym while Gova was working there. You can be their photos that they both love working out! Karen and Gova also enjoy traveling and exploring new places, cooking, and going to wineries and breweries together. For their engagement, Gova proposed after flying in to visit Karen during her birthday weekend. He was unpacking his backpack, turned around on one knee, and asked Karen to marry him!
This engagement session was so much fun for me and them! Karen wore a nice lace white dress for her first outfit. However, I ended up being obsessed with her second dress she chose. The white and light pink flowers coordinated really well with the pink and orange sunset. Gova’s blue shirt looked so good on the beach and was a good color choice for him. It can tricky when you’re shooting an engagement session near the ocean. Some of my past engagement couples have had chilly and windy weather depending on the season. However, it wasn’t too cold and there was hardly any wind for their photos. It was such a success!
Gova and Karen’s fall engagement session at Fort Fisher near Wilmington only proves further that I truly love my job as a wedding and engagement photographer! Their wedding next September at the River Room is going to be beautiful, and I get to work with my favorite planner! I would love to capture your engagement session on the beach next year!
